My Must Have’s

BEST OF THE BEST

SHOP THE POST

I think it’s safe to say… My entire look in this week’s post-some vintage buys I’ve known to not part with, while some currently cool from 2017 holiday or 2018 Pre-Spring collections, each piece in my closet has been thoughtfully curated over time…

After a few years of that gradually shifted mindset & a change in shopping habits-it’s now become effortless-And I always have what I need at a moment’s notice. Not by being an excessive or haphazardly shopper, but just the opposite… This #ootd is a perfect example.  All together, everything ranges from 3 decades of acquired fashion must have’s, pieces, one valued at $3k, most somewhere between $100-$300, all the way to  $30 dollars— But all quality & thought through. Then that’s when the fun starts…

No longer do I need to “SHOP” for a dress… or to find that perfect something for a Friday holiday party…knowing I have it—because while shopping/needed maybe something else-instead of saying-“I don’t have anywhere to wear that to” …
I think the opposite—“I will have something that will come along, and I will have just what I need!” Not to mention, you won’t find yourself in a frenzy the day of your party, wedding, whatever-end up getting something on sale that you don’t love-that will just collect dust…

So if I love it (within budget & reason) I say buy it now. You’ll have it when that time comes.  And after gradually  acquiring  those perfect pieces-ranging from a 70’s vintage Chanel Brooch, to a leopard coat scooped up when I opened SNAP in 2004, to a Current Elliott Denim Chambray top that’s a few years old… All worn back to my latest fun fashion black Mother Denim “Cha Cha’s” purchase with a surprise Balenciaga wrap bracelet “Just Cuz” happy…

This is probably one of my favorite parts about fashion, the real creativity & constant building.  Not just one wear buys…, Regardless of price, along with a keen eye-can be a real struggle to decipher where to start.  What to purge…?  What to keep?  What to wear more?  When to cut ties…? But by being patient & gradually making smart buys, you’ll find yourself all of the sudden throwing together an outfit like this-that’s totally not planned.  You’ll just have all of the components you’ll need.  Happy shopping!  And Happy Holidays!!!

NAVY & WHITE, VINTAGE & STRIPES

SHOP THE POST

Going to keep this blog post super short and sweet since there isn’t really much more to say besides how many girls love things navy, white, vintage & stripes??? Not to mention all of it wrapped into one… There are so many pieces from literally decades, mixed into this one look-which is always what I strive for when pulling together my looks—It seems sort of just boring honestly if there is no history & EVERYTHING single thing is just, well- new. Don’t get me wrong, I love a little (or a good bit) of a surge of newness in my closet, but it’s the vintage pieces & the things I’d never dare to part with that make a look special & totally just yours & yours alone.
My dress, is from a new line I picked up over last fall & brought in this summer. It’s been amazing. My “Nudest” shoes are a few years old of course & are a staple, my belt is from high school, my necklace is adored & was my moms, the shades are sold out online, but I have one pair left in-store, and the vintage Gucci is from the 80’s. This is the sort of combo that never bores me with fashion. Bringing together pieces from vintage, to new, & everything in between is something I’ll never tire of… If not it would all be just stuff—bringing it all together is what makes it forever exciting!

EMBROIDERED EVERYTHING

SHOP THE POST

One of Fall 2017 key trends I saw everywhere, on almost every line at NY & LA market was “Anything Embroidered.” This throwback update was spotted on everything from denim & jackets to blouses, handbags, shoes (denim jackets) & more, but I definitely have my favorite applications.

While never a trend chaser, I for sure like to stay current–so if a trend happens to be on point with a certain look that I’ve always loved, I just naturally touch on it when buying for the store. I get super excited when I see something like this come back around.  And one of the best parts of having a specific personal style & staying true to it (which I always encourage) is that if you purge wisely, you get to constantly pull out your old goodies you haven’t used in a while and put them back into circulation. You’ll have something super special that’s super timeless but “current” & you won’t see yourself coming and going. Something that’s special to you.  Like this embellished, beaded clutch that was special ordered for me from Shoefty, Magazine Street. One of my all time favorite stores, I won’t say how long I’ve had this one. But I’m so happy I’ve never parted with her…

For my clients that like to shop local (so much gratitude to you all): the denim, shades, earrings, & cuff can be found in store @ COVET-some on its way & some in stock, so call or shoot us a text/email for details. For my web shoppers (huge thanks to you guys too who follow & support my site), you can find everything besides my Rebecca Taylor blouse & Isabella Fiore clutch in  “Shop The Post.” Those two may be pretty hard to come by, so I’ve linked some updated versions that would work just as well…

Another major go to this fall that I’m sure you all have seen by now is anything velvet or velour… I scooped these little crushed velvet slides up for $25 bucks! You can find them in “Shop The Post” too—they’re super comfy & available in 3 great neutral fun colors. (I may need to get a back-up pair I’ve been wearing them so much)!

Lastly, a major shout out to my new photographer & web manager, who is just amazing!  While I’m for sure not a model, she’s constantly telling me I’m a natural… When it’s really Kat’s touches- from anything like technical issues on knowledge of lighting, to something like making me giggle… Her talents are endless! She’s so good, not only can she capture great shots without having to go back to crop, edit, or re-touch anything, we have a total blast during our shoots. Kat’s contact info is at the end of the post for those of you that have any photo needs.”

FAVORITE THINGS

SHOP THE POST

A well appointed name for this post, since so many of my “Favorite Things” happen to be incorporated into in this look… Everything from the classic Hermes belt, to one of many fun Chanel bags, to Gucci loafers, to my forever loved leopard button down, to my Frame cropped flares (that I think I have now in almost every wash), shall I go on?…

And although normally in my custom-mixed, signature pink lip shade, I’m truly a sucker for that perfect red lip- Another all time, forever fave… Then there’s the hoodie… I could seriously go on and on with this look—A zip up I own now by Sundry in every neutral now- wear it on it’s own with a basic tank, or layer it in so many ways… It’s my goto for under my favorite moto, to dressing down this unexpected look by wearing it over my button down… Limitless options!

Where do I even start with this look? It’s sort of become somewhat of a uniform for anyone who is even the slightest cult follower of Anine Bing. The entire concept based on continuously building the perfect wardrobe. I work so closely with my clients in-store & on site wardrobe auditing, to not just shop or spend randomly, but to build and spend wisely that not only do I personally love this line, but it works so well with our concept at COVET… We keep detailed records of purchases so we can always go back and fill in just where needed… And if not to be found at COVET, we will find that perfect item for you (HOPEFULLY SOMEWHERE ELSE LOCAL) and if not, then online… Our goal is to make each client completely and totally happy in-love with every single piece in her wardrobe… I LOVE LOVE LOVE this look ever so much-along with mixing it up with different versions of it… Hopefully this makes the PERF Trans/Fall look that inspires readers—don’t hesitate to call or email for more outfit inspiration combos!

OFF THE SHOULDER

SHOP THE POST

Most likely, at this point, we’ve all probably snagged some sort of off the shoulder already: a top, a dress (lots of tops & dresses☺) since this trend hit runways and retailers like gangbusters last spring… And it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon…! Loving some of the spinoffs too like shoulder cutouts, and other versions that you’ll see in future posts to come of this SUPER flattering style (for early viewing check out my instagram/facebook page for styles found only in store*). This is one trend that has been completely on point for me, and for so many of my clients. It’s not just for the size O0’s or size 24’s, but one that can almost go anywhere on anyone, and can go there well-day to night. This particular TIBI piece in my post, was truly one of the first cult favorites in women’s contemporary world, both tops & dresses alike, so I felt I had to pay homage… And this fashion direction is one that has some staying power. Always always staying true to my personal sense of style, I can’t help but love when a particular trend that is ultra-current + one of my all-time favorites collide… It’s like magic for a fashion-girl…! So don’t be afraid to grab more than just one (or two of these) if you are into it-she’s got some staying power!

SHOP THE POST

One of my favorite dresses of all time. May seem sort of strange that a not so basic t-shirt dress is one of my all-time favorites, but every lucky customer who scooped one up knows what I mean…  So easy, so comfy, SO PACKABLE, you seriously don’t ever want to take it off. We had this little Current Elliott maxi IN-STORE at COVET & re-ordered & re-ordered it until we ordered literally every last one in CE’s warehouse until they were all gone..  Although we’re sold out IN-STORE, I’m sharing one of the BEST SUMMER FASHION SECRETS that my clients keep asking!  You can find it here! It’s so much cuter when you tie the bottom like I’ve done in the pictures-right? I wore it one day a couple of weeks ago during LA market, and I seriously got stopped at least 10 times by other buyers asking who my dress was by… I can’t remember the last time I have received so many compliments on one of the most simple casual comfy dresses?! I have to say though, I do see why & I think the lucky ladies that got theirs at COVET, would/have said the same-it’s like wearing your pajamas out and about, but very very cool pajamas. Sort of like pulling the trigger on these guys (thank you Melissa Coleman @ Clover for the push-not like it took a lot) thank you they’re divine! Can’t wait until they arrive to wear them with my dress so I can wear my pajamas and slippers to work-GENIUS!

SHOP THE POST

There’s so much I’m loving about this post! My Mother cropped flares are my favorite part of the outfit, hands down…! The Golden Goose are right up there too, along with my statement necklace… We’ve done so well in store with these cropped flares that we are now sold out, but we just received the same style in white☺ The Army Jacket is sold out everywhere online, but we’ll be receiving them in store any day…
The best part is when Jake’s shows up to a shoot. It so much fun to capture certain moments as he’s growing & I feel so lucky to be able to bring him with me (except when he hides my favorite Valentino’s in a random handbag that goes missing for months)…☺ That’s super fun! But it’s so worth it when I’m able to look back at older posts and see how much he’s grown along the way. It makes it that much more fun–Until next post, happy shopping all…!!!

I wanted to send out a quick post to give everyone a last minute idea for a super cute Easter outfit that this fashion blogger will be wearing this year ☺ While it can be fun to really dress for holidays, sometimes it’s nice to be comfortable & just go with your favorite jeans. I’m opting for the later this year — So go easy on yourself this Easter, if things have been as hectic in your house as they have been in mine. I can’t wait to wear my gray skinny jeans, Anine Bing Cami & lace bra, and an IRO leather jacket that is from Clover in New Orleans. All things I pulled from my closet. You sort of can’t go wrong with a look like this… And I’m obsessed with the DINA pump by Alice + Olivia in nude suede I’m wearing here. I have this pump in both black & nude, and all of my clients will hear me go on and on about how much love & wear both. I’m sure you have seen me wear the black version in a lot of my posts bc they are my go to’s… So I hope everyone is having a nice relaxing long weekend & I also hope my post gives some last minute Easter outfit inspiration. Oh and if you do have to dress it up a bit, if you’re going to church, or if your family or friends call for a dressier look, you can just as easily toss on a pair of white/off with silk track pants or a white/off white flare trousers like these here. A dressier pant rather than a jean with a silk cami & moto will kick it up a notch for a killer modern look, yet still just as easy & to put together… Happy Easter & Happy weekend everyone!

It’s that time of year… Most of us in New Orleans are getting our Spring wardrobes beach-ready…☺ Easter will be here before we know it! Which means we need to prepare with some pieces that aren’t just purchased strictly “for the beach,” but they need to be incorporated into your closet so that you can wear them before, after, and during. I’m always a big fan of multi-purpose clothes. It makes so much most sense to me when thinking price per wear. And any of my clients I work closely with, I think know by now my love for a Kaftan (and it can be spelled with a K☺. When personal shopping for my customers, I always encourage them to have a few, some easy breezy cool cotton ones like this Goddis one, and a couple of silk printed ones. I love this Goddis one (first that blue is just perfect) and you can wear it as a cover up with some gladiators and bring it to the beach to wear as cover up, or you can wear it as a dress and toss on a slip & the Stuart Weitzman’s (like I did here) after coming up from the beach to grab dinner while still feeling super cute & special. And some of the silk printed Kaftans, not only can you wear them as cover-ups, but those can go WAY dressy! You can take it to a cocktail level (I’ve included a couple in my “SHOP THE POST”), pile on the gold jewelry and you’ll feel like the most fabulous girl in the room. I’ll be posting some more must-have’s for Spring/Summer ’16… Happy shopping!

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful in weather for those of you in New Orleans! It’s a perfect time to break out all of your white! One of my favorite looks… Of course during the summer, but even more during the winter–or during this transitional time when you can still wear your white jeans with not just heels, but with your favorite OTK boots:) Oh and I can’t help but love a duster year-round… And love that this one is not just super comfy, but on sale! The earrings too! Until next post… THREEheartsSM

Could this weather be any more gorgeous?! Finally???!! I’m so excited that we can actually break out our sweaters down here in New Orleans! And it’s December… If you aren’t prepared and haven’t already purchased your cold weather clothes early this year, there are a lot of great sales out there to take advantage of, like this J.Crew Turtleneck. I love this outfit bc it can totally take you from day to night (especially if you carry some cute flats in your tote). There are also great basics in this post and some REALLY GREAT GIFTS TOO! Some a little more extravagant, or some a little more budget friendly, but equally as special. Enjoy this cold weather out here! I certainly hope it lasts….

Holidays are always so tricky to find that perfect outfit to wear… You want to be comfy (since most of us will be doing lots of partaking) but you also want to be stylish, while not looking under or overdressed. Of course it depends on the venue, or the family, as to how dressy or casual you can go, but this year I opted for something a little more casual & I’m going to toss on my Christian Loos to dress it up a bit. For some families jeans just aren’t acceptable, so if you wanted to wear a version of this outfit, you could opt for a pair of winter white or navy silk pants for a instead of skinnies, or even a dark clean skinny. But I really wanted to do a post to help everyone with the question I keep hearing “What are you wearing on Thanksgiving…?” (Christmas will come too) with things that most of us probably already have in our closet. And if you don’t have these pieces already in time for Thursday, they’re all great styles to have in your wardrobe anyway, to pull for these chilly days… And you can mix them all so differently. Just the other day, I wore the blazer with a crisp white button down from a New Orleans boutique Clover, by Anine Bing with some black ponte pants & booties. And I’ve worn the cable-knit with leather skinnies and Alice + Olivia heels & they have three all been super cute ways to mix it up. Stay tuned for my next post with some of my favorite stores that have some of the BEST sales for black Friday! Hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving! THREEheartsSM

There are SOOOO MANY things I love about Fall/Holiday ’15 trends and one of them is for sure FLARES! Flares have always been my favorites regardless whether they are “trendy” or “in” or “whatever”…. I’ve been wearing them for the last twenty years and can remember when I first opened my store and clients were wearing “bootcut” & I couldn’t get them to feel comfortable in “Skinnies.” Oh how times have changed☺ While I still and will always love my skinnies, as they are today’s staples and my go to’s for my comfy days when I want to wear gladiators during the summer, or flats or boots during the winter. But my Flares are my love… But I could never do that in between bootcut and still can’t (unless a rare circumstance where they ARE needed for wearing that tailored look with a stiletto or maybe a cowboy boot UNDER THE JEAN OF COURSE-God HELP THOSE WHO Don’T!)…

These particular flares are from Clover, one of my favorite stores in New Orleans, as well as the V-Neck. My Booties along with my ring are back from my SNAP days so they are almost vintage at this point. The necklaces are part of the laws of layering collection by Gorjana who you will see me in quite a good bit.  And this cuff I love! I purchased my Hermes about 7 or 8 years ago, and while I love it-so many people have it now, that I love my Ferragamo even more since it’s always so classic and maybe a little less coveted, but it means something to me. Maybe a little less popular than my Collier de Chien, but that’s kind of how I’m liking to roll these days…

We all thought (at least I did), that the last huge trend for Fall ’15 we would be seeing would be FRINGE! But when I started doing my research last Spring, I couldn’t believe that it would be surprisingly bigger than ever! And doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Not sure how I felt about it at first, but honestly what I began to love about this trend is that you can do a little-or go all out… I also love that it looks great whether on clothes or accessories. And this year, fringe is done in a more modern way-not quite so boho, THANK GOD bc I’m so over THAT trend… This jacket is from The Mix in Mandeville (a great store outside of New Orleans). I’ve also included a similar AND FABULOUS jacket (in “SHOP THE POST”) from Clover, another great boutique on Magazine in New Orleans. The Flares I’m wearing are my own & I’ve attached them as well in “Shop the Post,” but I’ve included similar options too if you click on the name of the styles under “SHOP THE POST.”  I’ve done that with the major components of the post so my readers can have options. The turquoise ring is also my own purchased from The Mix & is one of my forever favorites… What do you all think about this trend? I’d love to hear any feedback-Happy Hump day all…!
